Dearest Jesus...

 

Today's society has a parade of items they tell you must have to be happy.

 

Society tells us we must do this or that.. and now you must eat or drink certain things to be happy.

 

I know, my Lord, that happiness comes only from You.

 

Anything of this earth will pass away; but, You my Jesus will not.

 

I am not concerned with attracting the approval of people but do desire Your approval.

 

I think every age has their temptations..

 

Younger concern themselves with their bodies and looks, middle age with their income and the old

with their possessions..

 

All these, however, are all nothing without You.

 

How foolish we are without Your Holy Spirit in our lives..

 

Send, O Lord, Your spirit into our lives and give us Your wisdom Lord, taht we may appreciate those

things which You say our important and push aside those temptations to things and ways that are not of you!

 

 

 

Only For You My God

 My dearest Jesus, when one puts everything into a scale to weigh out it's worth; it's all a bunch of nothing.

Only what comes from You and through You is of any value. Things of this world may look nice but they are finite and

will come to an end. Only You Lord are without an end ..only You cannot be limited to measurements of time and space.

Help me Lord to know you and appreciate you. Help me to value those things which really matter in life. Things that cannot be held in our hands or seen with our eyes..those things usually are more valuable then the tangible..Forgive me my superficiality.
